* Zu sehen ist das Gebäude, das Personal und Besucher, sowie natürlich das Rohr in Richtung Himmel gerichtet. Ein zu Dublin von Thomas Grubb gefertigtes Instrument, das in Melbourne der junge Gelehrte Albert La Suisse von Cambridge begleitete und dort dann seine Beobachtungen anstellte. - Telescope Company. Das 48-Zoll-Teleskop des Melbourne Observatoriums, 1869, war das zweitgrößte Teleskop der damaligen Zeit. Darüber hinaus wurden auch eine Reihe von Refraktoren gebaut, so war das im 19.
